Church news and Events – 16th June

Categories: Church,Events

Let us continue praying for the FTN volunteers who were commissioned to the Secondary Schools as they start their 4 weeks of ministry.

Please note that there will be communion during both morning services next week Sunday, 23rd June 2019.

The Sunday school is in urgent need of teachers. We have a shortfall of at least four (4) teachers at 8 am service and at least three (3) teachers at the 10am service. We request church members to prayerfully consider joining the ministry. Male teachers are especially encouraged, you can contact the following: Stella Mzumara 76179631 or Leya Musunga 71629793

The Sunday school will be having an outreach to the less privileged children in our community at the end of the term and are therefore requesting the children to donate children’s toys, clothes, tinned food and cash donations to this cause. For more information and donations to be submitted to the teachers in the Sunday school hall or you can contact the following: Stella Mzumara 76179631 or Leya Musunga 71629793.

On behalf of Ruth Moir and her family, the fundraising committee wishes to convey great gratitude to OBC church leaders and members for their prayers and financial support. Ruth is responding well to treatment. Let us continue to pray for complete healing and continued availability of required finances. May the almighty God bless you all abundantly.

Baptismal classes will CONTINUE today, during the 10.00am service.

This seminar on how we can develop an effective Church Discipleship Ministry will be on Saturday 22 June 2019 at OBC from 9.00am to 3.00pm. It will be facilitated by a visiting team from the Navigators – South Africa. All ministry leaders are expected to attend. Please diarise the date and make it a point to attend.

“BEING A DISCIPLE: COUNTING THE REAL COST” is our next Bible study topic. Study books are available from the office at a cost of P30.00 each. Home-fellowship leaders are urged to collect books for their groups. The new study should commence from 12 June.
All those who were accepted as members of OBC are strongly urged to find a home-fellowship group to be part of. Non-members of OBC are also encouraged to be part of home-fellowship groups.

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…” Ephesians 6:18

Fresh Start for All Nations invites us to prayerfully consider joining them as they have felt compelled by the Lord to issue a call for corporate prayer for a miraculous healing of Pastor Steve Peterson, who has more recently and accurately been diagnosed with a rare late-onset neurodegenerative disease. Apart from the Lord, there is no cure. But, with God all things are possible! They believe the Lord wants to build faith in the body of Christ in these days, so they are responding to His directive to ask people to pray accordingly.

Pray also for his wife, Mindy as she supports Steve during this challenging time.
