DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING – TUESDAY 29TH AUGUST 2017
Tuesday 29th August 2017 will be our day of Prayer and Fasting at OBC. Fasting begins on Tuesday at 6.00am in the morning and ends at 7.15pm after the evening prayer meeting. This week’s theme for prayers is Psalm 27:8 “My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, LORD, I will seek”.You are encouraged to fast on this day. The Church is also reminded that the OBC prayer meeting takes place every Tuesday from 6.00pm to 7.15pm and all are welcome.

Complete the registration forms and leave them by the desk outside the church hall.
Order a T-shirt. Deadline 29 August 2017 to allow for T-shirts production. T-shirt is only P80.
Bring materials requested for donations to the needy to the Church Office.
Indicate whether you are able to participate in Bontleng where activities are prayer booth, one on one evangelism/door to door, football, and distribution of literature.

MEMBERSHIP AT OBC.
Attending OBC does not make you a member – a membership application process takes place.
1. By becoming a member, you become an important partner in helping the church accomplish its mission (Together in Christ to The World.)
2. Our church wants to be a church that serves you and wants you to own the church by becoming involved in some ministry within the
church and by enjoying the privilege of participating in, and enjoying fellowship of, God’s people.
3. Membership at OBC allows you to share in the life and service of church.
4. Allows you to be part of decision -making process through voting privileges.
If you are contemplating to become a member at OBC, please pick up a membership form from the Ushers during the church services.
Orientation classes for new members will be conducted soon.
It’s with sadness that we announce the passing on of Dr Ronke Oyewo’s father on the 21st August 2017 in Nigeria. May his soul rest in peace.
Our prayers and sympathy are with our sister and her family, as we continue to pray for God’s comfort and strength upon them.

PROCESSING THE ISSUES OF YOUR HEART SESSION 3
Come and process issues like anger, bitterness, hatred, hurts, resentment, rejection etc. that affect our hearts. The next session is at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, 30th August in the OBC Conference Room. OBC THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
DATE: 3RD SEPTEMBER 2017, ONE SERVICE AT 9.00AM
VENUE: OBC GROUNDS
This year marks ten years since we moved to this location. A celebration to thank the Almighty for how far He has brought us is planned for 3rd September, 2017. It will also be a time to trust God for his leadership now and going forward.
a) Message/ Praise & Worship.
b) Individual testimonies, poems etc. from members whose lives are touched through the various activities of the church. – 5 slots (registration required)
c) Home cell group/ Ministries to share the benefits of belonging to such groups. – 5 slots each
d) Cultural Diversity – a demonstration of the diversity found within the church. Every nationality group will have one representative in traditional attire and national flag march to the front of the church with a song.
e) Youth presentation
f) Sunday school presentation
g) Souvenirs to mark the occasion – anyone with bright ideas should contact the church office or Jean Munandi 72790998/ Mary Acquah 71960547.
Maximum participation from members in order to make it a great day of remembrance.
We are therefore requesting the following:
Home cell groups to provide at least 3 platters.
Members, who are not part of a home cell group, please register to bring healthy food platters.
Volunteer to bake a special cake for the celebration.
Volunteers to join the Care Ministry for planning.
Volunteers to help with decorations.
Variety of drinks to share.
NB: A table is set outside for registration for effective planning.
