ANNOUNCING THE TRIUMPHANT HOME-CALLING OF MRS VERONICA DUBBEY
Painfully, we announce the home-calling of Mrs. Veronica Dubbey who passed on peacefully to glory on Friday, 30th May 2014
The Dubbeys first came to Botswana in March 1991 when Dr. John Dubbey was invited to be the Principal of the erstwhile Botswana Polytechnic (which is now the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Botswana).
Within months of being in OBC, John was elected an elder of the Church. He served in this capacity until 1994 when they returned to the UK.
They later returned to Botswana around 1998 when OBC invited John to be a pastor in charge of planting churches.
He and Veronica had a vision for expanding OBC. They started the Tlamelo project at Old Naledi, a project that later gave birth to Old Naledi Baptist church. John was designated Pastoral Administrator and later became the Acting Pastor of OBC after Rev Denzyl Tryon resigned.
Veronica embraced all members of the church and their home was opened for fellowship at all times. They were both filled with genuine Christian love; compassion, sacrifice and they encouraged unity in the body of Christ.
They finally went back to the UK in 2005 and since then have visited Botswana at least twice. John and Veronica are blessed with four children and several grandchildren. She will be sorely missed. May God comfort John and his entire family.
